FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
The town of Greene was left money to erect and maintain a public library underterms of the will of Frank
Adams Morse of that community filed at Androscoggin Registry of Probate yesterday. The document earmarks
$30,000 of a bequest to build and furnish a building and the rest to go to a fund to maintain it. He also left
$500.00 to purchase books. No estimate was made of the estate, but specific bequests amounted to $31,000.
Mr. Morse stated the library shall be named the Julia Adams Morse Memorial Library in honor of his mother.
The will specified the $30,000. be divided into two portions, one to be used for the building, the other
for necessary furniture and furnishings.
Except for the $500. which shall go to purchase books, the rest of the bequest shall be invested and
the interest used for the maintenance, the will stated.
